Family Advocacy

Family support and advocacy is at the heart of Lowry Family Center's mission --as are our family advocates on staff. Lowry Family Center provides family support programs to families following principals specified by Family Support America and the Family Resource Center Association (FRCA), such as the value of working with families through relationships based on equality and respect. When a family calls, Lowry Family Center advocates tap into a network of community resources to find the assistance it needs. LFC also gets many referrals from Denver Human Services to assist families with completing treatment plans to reunify families involved in the child welfare system. More Info

Adult Education

Learning tools for positive parenting, whether you're a biological parent, foster parent, adoptive parent or parent through kinship, can help families stay strong. LFC provides foster parent core training, kinship care provider training and multi-ethnic parenting classes to meet the needs of diverse families. A family advocate organizes an annual Care Provider conference to bring together foster, adoptive and kinship families for education and support. More Info

Health advocacy services include health coverage, nutrition and cooking classes, STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) prevention services and developmental screening services.
